My Work

Learning Through Connection

I believe in lifelong learning and believe that I can always learn something from every person I meet. I am in awe of the depth of knowledge, skill, and commitment that I find when working alongside others. I am always intrigued by the way people think so differently and have different ideas even about the same topic. I love how even the youngest learners can respond in very thoughtful and unique ways.

I believe in shared dreams, and that we learn most when we connect, really listen to hear, and engage in the sharing of ideas.

I have had a long and successful career in education, and I am very thankful for that. I want to give back by engaging with others in meaningful ways, having deep and truly authentic conversations about our craft and why we do what we do.

I now want to work alongside other teachers, especially those who are young in the profession, to model, mentor and support them in the most vital of all professions – teaching!

Poetry

Poetry in all its forms has ever been my lifelong passion.

This Is Us, published by the National Library of Australia  – A beautiful collaborative work between Libby Hathorn and Jude Fell.

The collection is a celebration of creativity and connection — a reminder that poetry lives in everyday moments around us. We hope it inspires you to love poetry, teach poetry, read poetry, listen to poetry,  look closely at the world, and perhaps write a poem of your own.

And so, poetry resides in my bones. For me, poetry jumps from pages full of life, loss, love, fun and silliness. The promise of adventure…other worlds and other possibilities (Jude Fell).
